1. Choose your theme and colors
A candy buffet consists of many different candies, containers, shapes, and sizes. So it’s important to pull all of these different factors together by way of a theme or color story in order to achieve a cohesive look. Your theme will in turn affect your selection of candies, containers, and decorations.
An easy way to select your color theme is by using your wedding colors. The candy buffet can have shades of one of your wedding colors or all of your wedding colors. Another option is to use a color that complements your wedding colors for an added pop of color and surprise. For example, if your wedding colors is black and white, you can have a red, pink, or even gold candy buffet.
Make sure you select candies in different shapes, different flavors (something for everyone!), and plan for 8 ounces of candy per guest. (Since most bulk candy is sold by the pound: One pound equals 16 ounces.)
3. Choosing your candy containers
In addition to selecting jars in multiple sizes and shapes, consider different heights for a multi-dimensional look too. Don't forget your serveware and goodie bags. These can and should be coordinated into your overall theme too.

4. Setting the Table
Have the taller containers in the back of the table and shorter ones in the front. (Think elementary class pictures.) If you don't have a lot of tall containers, you can prop them up with stacking boxes or other decorative items that match your theme.

5. Add the final decor touches
The final touches include anything and everything other than your candies. This can be the shape and size of your table, color and texture of your table cloth, maybe a centerpiece (floral or not), signage (candy labels if you don't want your guests to grab the wrong kind of candy!), and additional table decor to make your candy buffet pop!
