Tossing the garter is an
old tradition that has since been toned down (a little). Supposedly, the male guest that catches the garter would go to the female guest that caught the bride's bouquet and place the garter on her leg. These two individuals are said to be the next ones to get married. In some instances, it is said that they would marry EACH OTHER!
If you would like to embrace this tradition and would like to create your own garter, here is a super easy DIY tutorial from
Bridal Musings.
Materials Needed:
– 1 metre elasticated lace
– A length of ribbon
– Scissors
– Needle + thread / sewing machine
– Goose feathers (but be warned they’re quite expensive)
– Glue gun
