Do all of your bridesmaids hate the same dress or just one of them? If all of them, are they usually rational people that speak honestly with you? If so, you will want to speak to them calmly about their dresses and see what it is that they don't like. It might be best to accommodate them slightly and see if modifications can be made to the hemlines, necklines, straps, etc. You will be surprised by how the little things can change the look of the dress and make your bridesmaids more comfortable.

If it is just one bridesmaid, talk to her separately and calmly. Ask her what she doesn't like about the dress. If it is because of personal body issues, try to accommodate her. She might not feel comfortable squeezing into a mermaid dress as a size 16 amongst the size 2 bridesmaids. Having a slightly different dress can still make your wedding pictures look cohesive. If it is because of personal style and taste, reassure her that you will wear WHATEVER she choses for you on her wedding day. Provide some hideous examples too. She will likely laugh and wear the dress you chose!
