Totally Cool Men's Wedding Bands

I often hear my girlfriends complain about their husbands not wearing their wedding bands. As the complaining goes on, their imagination starts to go wild about all the possible reasons they don't want to wear their wedding band. Once, only once, I blurted out to a girlfriend: "I don't think he is cheating on you. He just doesn't want to wear his wedding band because it is ugly. It looks like an engagement ring for a guy."

If you want your man to wear his wedding band and actually want to, consider asking him for his opinion and help chose a really cool one for him. Here are some ideas! (To my male readers: You're welcome!)

For our male readers, we previously researched and shared short tutorials on how to tie a bow tie and how to fold a pocket square. Now that you look great, how about relaxing your look so that you can boogie on the dance floor? By the end of the night, most guys would have removed their suit jackets and ties. In horribly hot weather, some guys even roll up their sleeves.

How to Look Totally Handsome

It only seems like I am blogging more for guys/grooms. (Maybe it is because I realized that there are GUYS out there reading my blog. I don't think my BF even reads my blog. Mental note to test him on today's blog post.)

Previously we shared short tutorials on how to tie a bow tie and how to fold a pocket square. The only agenda was and is to help grooms look good on their big day. Afterall, it is his big day too! Here are some tips on how to look totally handsome on your wedding day or everyday. (Swoon...wouldn't that be nice?)

Get a Haircut!
OMG. Yes. I have to say this. Get a haircut before your wedding day. You can try to slick it back like the guys from Mad Men, but honestly, they have a great cut under all of that "slick."

Get a Suit that Fits Well
It is really hard for me to resist not running out of a room screaming when a groom tells me he is going to just rent a suit for his wedding. I know it is just for one day but why would you wear something ill-fitting on your wedding day when there will be tons of pictures taken? If the rental is necessary for budget reasons or is a close fit, ok. However, grooms: if you buy a suit you can wear this over and over again after the wedding. See it as an investment.

Accessorize and Pull the Look Together
Ties, belt, watch, tie clip, cuff links all bring the look together! Pay attention to these accessories. (Think Randy Jackson. Whatsup dog?!) If you are totally lost on what little things to add, ask your bride. Likely, she won't mind shopping for accessories for you!

How to Fold a Pocket Square

After sharing with readers a blog post on how to tie a bow tie, I learned that I have guys reading my blog. I don't know why it just dawned on me as there are grooms out there planning their wedding too!

For my male readers, here is a small tutorial on how to fold a pocket square. No, you don't just jam a piece of fabric there. For a pocket square to complement a suit, it has to be cleaned, ironed, and folded with points before it is placed in the pocket.

Groom Trends 2013

Grooms are normally forgotten because it is all about the bride right? Well, this blog post is about the growing trends for groom looks. If grooms are not reading this, brides make sure you show this post to them. You shouldn't be surprised if they are attentive because they too want to look good!

1. Leading Men - Grooms are taking notes of what actors are wearing in the movies that their brides are swooning over. Hello James (Bond)!



2. Throw Back to the 60's - Alright, quite possibly also under the influence of their brides swooning over Mad Men's Don Draper. Fedoras is a must to complete this look.

  

3. Funky Socks - For years, grooms have been pushing the limits with footwear. Many grooms have chosen to wear cowboy boots, sneakers, and (my fave) Converse. The growing trend is for grooms to wear and be photographed wearing really funky socks! (Todd Pellow)

 

 

4. Showing Some Personality - Different prints and colors are combined as the groom's special put together look! (Dominique Bader)
