Desserts in a Jar

There is something comforting about eating food out of a jar. Maybe it reminds of baby food? Being all grown up now, there are grown up ways of eating out of a jar. Some of these are even quite gourmet! ( I absolutely do not mean grabbing something out of the fridge, eating it and putting it back.) Imagine bringing out these jars of food at the end of your wedding reception as a late night snack. Comforting and sweet to end off a great wedding night! (I would even be ok if someone offered me a jar of dessert at their house!)

Be ready to drool over these desserts!

Ruffled Wedding Cakes

I don't know why I didn't think of blogging about cakes earlier. I constantly open my fridge door to see if a cake magically appeared. Most of the time, a cake doesn't show up. (Probably because I didn't buy one!) There is something about cakes that makes you smile from within. It is comforting, yummy, and most often pleasing to the eye. Cakes are like magic! (Maybe one of the ingredients IS magic!)

Currently, there are two huge trends in weddings: Ruffles and Ombre colors. Here are some pictures of cakes that embrance both trends. Can anyone please sneak one of these into my fridge one day?

Comfort Foods at Your Wedding

Everyone has a comfort food that just makes everything ok again. I have to admit that I have quite a few comfort foods and they only became a comfort food of mine about five years ago when I first started eating cheese. Growing up I didn't eat any cheese at all. (Did you know that there isn't a single Chinese dish that uses cheese as one of the ingredients?) Five years ago, my friend made me my first grilled cheese sandwich. This is how the conversation went:

Me: OMG! This is so good!
      Friend: Are you mocking me?
Me: No. Seriously, I've never had a grilled cheese sandwich before!
Friend: It is just bread and sliced cheese.
      Me: Cheese comes in slices?!

Getting back to the reason for this post, wouldn't it be great to share your comfort foods and story with your wedding guests? Of course, they will have to be minature versions but they will make great cocktail appetizers or snacks towards the end of the night. Here are some of great ideas of comfort foods you can serve at your wedding. (Most of them are my comfort foods!)
