Remember those yarn pom poms you made in elementary school? They weren't hard to make and didn't require a lot of materials and the outcome was just too cute. These pom poms could be made in any color our little hearts desired.

Now that we are all grown up and getting married, we can make these pom poms for our wedding ceremony and use them in place of paper confetti! (Many venues don't allow paper confetti.)
Making enough for all your guests to throw up in the air after you are announced Mr. and Mrs. will take a long time. Actually it will feel like forever and you might quit after making five pom poms, but the pain is worth it. Just check out this real wedding below.

Say Yes to the Dress - Randy Knows Best
Every bride that watches tv would have:
1) Watched a couple (or all) episodes of Say Yes to the Dress;
2) Know who Randy is; and
3) Knows Randy knows best when it comes to wedding dresses.
That said, you have to listen to Randy when he gives out advice. Here are two infographics you must look at, remember, and follow.
Enjoy!

The Perfect Gown at the Perfect Price: Calgary Wedding Dress Consignment
This has been another exciting week for Wishahmon! One of the things that happened is our feature on the Calgary Bridal Guide blog! Here is the featured blog post:
Repost from Calgary Bride
Repost from Calgary Bride
More dress for less money. If that isn’t a phrase to fall in love with. In Calgary, it’s not that easy to find consignment wedding dresses. Sure you can look at online classifieds, but – it’s not ideal. Emailing strangers, going to their homes or meeting in parking lots to look at a wedding gown in someone’s trunk – not exactly the wedding dress shopping experience you’ve dreamed of.
Enter the amazing women at Wishahmon Glorious Gown, Calgary’s consignment wedding dress boutique. Carrying exclusively wedding gowns (so no bridesmaids dresses or formal wear), their gowns are brand new with tags, brand new, sample gowns or once loved gowns. These gowns have been marked down by 25 – 50% off their retail value. While Wishahmon only carries up to 100 consignment wedding gowns at a time, when their wedding dress cups starts to run over, that means it’s sale time. Twice a year, the ladies clear our their inventory, and you get an additional 10 – 25% off the already awesome consignment wedding gown prices.
So why buy used? Like we mentioned earlier, you get more dress for less money. Wishahmon carries high-quality consignment gowns by designers like Vera Wang, Pronovais Manual Moto, Kenneth Pool, Alfred Sung, Alfred Angelo, Maggie Sottero, and Monique Lhuiller. So even if you have a tighter dress budget, you can get that amazing designer gown.
Consignment gowns are also a great option if time is of the essence because you can walk right out of the salon with your dress. When you order a new gown, it can take six to eight months to arrive, meaning you need a big window of time to find, order and have your gown adjusted by a seamstress. When you buy a once-loved gown, it’s yours that day. You leave with that gown in your arms, no stressing out and frantically tracking shipments. Bonus reason? It’s very environmentally friendly. So let’s say you’re a bride who is interested in consigning her gown – how do you go about it? First step is to email to weddings@wishahmon.com with the details of the gown and a picture.

If the latter, here is a super easy DIY from Modern Wedding. All you need is a container/can/whatever that holds water, some paper bags, and neon spray paint. Instructions:
Turn the everyday brown paper bag into a designer item with fluoro paint. In a well-ventilated area, spray the outside of a bag with flat white paint*. Place the sprayed bag over an empty jar to air and dry. Once dry, spray with two applications of fluoro coloured paint. When completely dry, fold the top of the bag over a few times to form a rim and fill with a jar of flowers.
*Note: You only need to spray the bottom 2/3rds of the bag as the inside of the bag will be folded over to form the edge.

Who Pays for What at a Wedding
Let's face it, money talks is not fun or sexy. Nobody likes to talk about it and much less when planning a wedding. Brides and grooms often are confused about who pays for what at a wedding because a) they have some "traditional" ideas, b) they are financially self-sufficient and don't know what to say when their parents want to help with wedding costs.
For reference, the following is the traditional breakdown of expenses:
